Collaboration is central to FirstWorks' mission. We intend to reach across genres, cultures, ages, and organizations to:

• - engage diverse audiences
• - provoke dialogue
• - catalyze creative expression & community

Our multi-year partners include Providence’s Department of Art, Culture & Tourism, Providence Performing Arts Center, Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design.

In the past season we launched new collaborations with:

• -Taiwan Council for Cultural Affairs / Taipei Cultural Center of TECO in New York: bringing the New England premiere of HORSE, Taiwan's first, all-male dance theatre to Providence for public performance and workshops in local schools.
• -The Silk Road Project and Yo-Yo Ma: Season of the Silk Road--a six-month educational project culminating in the premiere performance of their 2009 North American tour.
