PIXILERATIONS is a new media festival in Providence, Rhode Island (USA) that investigates the state of new media arts through installations, performances and film/video screenings. For nine years it has taken place as part of the larger FirstWorks Festival, a multidimensional performing arts festival in Providence. One of the foremost venues for new media artwork in New England, Pixilerations is produced by FirstWorks in collaboration with the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Brown University, and the City of Providence's Department of Art, Culture + Tourism.

2012 highlights

PIXILERATIONS [v.9] opened on Thursday, October 11th, 2012 with groundbreaking multimedia installations, performances and film/video screenings which investigate the state of new media arts. In its ninth year, PIXILERATIONS [v.9] featured cutting-edge artists from Taiwan and leading digital media artists working in Southern New England in a rare opportunity to view artwork that incorporates technology, interactive games, robotics, and virtual environments. An internationally recognized multi-media artist based in Los Angeles, Matreyek was featured at TEDGlobal in 2010 and creates animated short films as well as live works that integrate animation, live performance, and video installation.
